Vendor Change Management and Testing Process
This KB explains the process vendors should follow to submit change and testing requests to the AFN NOC.
Any network changes or testing that may interfere with production sites or raise alarms in production equipment will follow this process.
- Prepare a change and submit the change request service request form at: https://support.alabamafibernetwork.com/support/catalog/items/6
- AFN Network Engineering or the NOC may request additional information or schedule changes during the review process
- AFN internal Change management processes will be followed for all changes, but vendors will not have direct access to the change management system, and instead interact through the ticketing system change management request
- After internal change management processes have been followed, the vendor will receive a reply with an approved date and time to perform the change or testing procedure
- AFN NOC will keep the internal change management up to date throughout the process
- After the change is completed, the vendor should either clearly state the results of the change in the ticket reply, or call and confirm with the NOC that no lingering tasks remain to close out the change request
