AFN Site Access Policy and Procedures
Alabama Fiber Network (AFN) Operates sites across the entire state of Alabama. This procedure ensures that AFN is notified of all building and site access and can account for potential network issues that may arise from site access activities.
Site Access Policy
- Site access will be reported on a daily basis by approved vendors
- Access to a site will be checked in with the NOC
- After work is completed for the day, the NOC will be notified that personnel have left the site and are hands-off
- Personnel accessing a site are responsible for ensuring the site stays secure, clean, and safe during and after the visit. All racks shall be closed, debris cleaned, and sites left secure upon exit.
Site Access Procedures
AFN currently has two preferred ways for personnel to check into and out of a site.
Online Check-in via Form
If you perform frequent check-ins, you can register for an account on this support portal and then use the site check-in form to create your site check-in tickets here:

Check-in via Phone call
If access to a computer is not readily available, the site check-in may be performed over the phone:
- Call +1-334-325-2555
- Inform the NOC that you are checking into a site, provide the site Abbreviation or Address information to the NOC team member taking the call
- Provide the following information to the NOC:
- Name and Company
- Callback number
- Email address (for the NOC ticket to be created)
- Tell the NOC how long you intend to be on-site and what activities you are performing
- When work is completed, either call back to the NOC again to close your check-in, or reply to the email sent automatically to your email address
Check-in via Email
- Email support@alabamafibernetwork.com
- Inform the NOC that you are checking into a site, provide the site Abbreviation or Address information in your email
- Provide the following information to the NOC:
- Name and Company
- Callback number
- Tell the NOC how long you intend to be on-site and what activities you are performing
- When work is completed, either to the NOC again to close your check-in, or reply to the email sent automatically to your email address
